Biography

Jodi Miller is a landscape painter based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, best known for acrylic skyscapes built from large, gestural brushwork that bridges abstraction and figuration. She grew up on a family farm in northern Saskatchewan, surrounded by big skies and inspired by a grandfather who farmed through hardship after losing a leg in the Second World War, a childhood that instilled in her both a sense of adventure and a deep connection to the prairie sky. That connection stayed with her through years of travel and time spent far from home, and it continues to shape her work today, having returned to the prairies to raise her own family under those same skies. For Miller, the sky remains a place of connection, healing, and possibility.

Miller served 20 years in the Royal Canadian Air Force as an Aerospace Engineering Officer, training at the Royal Military College in Kingston and supporting missions across Canada and abroad before pursuing art full time. Her work has been recognized internationally for its ability to represent identity through landscape, exhibited throughout North America, and featured in Create Magazine's list of contemporary Canadian artists to watch.
