Artist’s Statement

My work captures the awe-inspiring landscapes of the Canadian Rockies, igniting a spark of adventure and inviting viewers to stand within these mountains rather than simply observe them from a distance. When you look at my work, I want you to feel like you're actually there.

As a mixed-media artist, I combine acrylic on canvas with epoxy resin on water features to create paintings that blur the boundary between representation and presence.
The resin transforms water—lakes, rivers, and streams—into luminous, dimensional surfaces that catch and reflect light just as they do in nature. This technique creates depth and movement, drawing the viewer's eye into the composition and evoking the sensory experience of actually being there: the cool mist of a mountain stream, the glimmer of alpine water, the interplay of light and shadow across a pristine landscape.

By blending paint with resin, my goal is to create an immersive experience that transcends the canvas and pulls you into the landscape. It's about presence and connection to the raw beauty of the natural world.
When you stand before my works, my hope is that you're stepping into the scene—not just looking at it.
